Our Caterpillars room welcomes children aged 2 and 3 as they grow in confidence, curiosity and independence.
Younger children have the close care and reassurance they need, while older children are encouraged to make choices, explore their interests and develop new skills. Our team adapts activities to each child’s age and stage of development.
Freedom to explore
Children in Caterpillars enjoy garden access, soft play and their own dedicated sleep room, with opportunities to explore both indoors and outdoors.
Through active and imaginative play, children develop coordination, problem-solving and early learning skills, from pretend play to recognising patterns and beginning to count.
Supporting routines and toilet training
We provide close support suited to each child’s age, with staffing ratios of 1:4 for children aged 2 and 1:6 for children aged 3.
With toilets next to the room, toilet training is supported gently and in partnership with parents, at each child’s own pace.
Familiar routines and shared play help children build friendships, learn to take turns, express their feelings and grow in independence.
