Fees and funding
Fees & funding at Butterfly Nursery
We understand that nursery fees and government funding can feel confusing, especially with different session types, term-time options and funded hours to consider.
To make things clearer, we’ve created the fees and funding calculator below, which gives you a personalised weekly fee estimate based on your child’s age, the funded hours you receive, and how you plan to use nursery care.
Simply work through the steps to select:
Your child’s age
Whether you receive funded childcare hours
Full-time or part-time attendance
Your preferred session pattern
The calculator will then show an estimated weekly cost. This estimate includes our Enhanced Care Package, covering meals, snacks, nappies, wipes, activities, Forest & Beach School sessions, trips, and more.
Please note: the calculator is designed to help you plan. Final fees are always confirmed with our team based on availability and your child’s individual needs.

Understanding funded childcare
There are several government-funded childcare streams available, depending on your child’s age and your family’s circumstances. All of these fall under Early Years Education Entitlement (EYEE).
The current funding options include:
9 months+ (working families)
Eligible working families can receive up to 30 hours funded childcare per week.
2-year-old funding (additional support)
Some 2-year-olds qualify for 15 hours funded childcare based on eligibility criteria.
3 and 4-year-olds (universal funding)
All children aged 3 and 4 are entitled to 15 hours universal funded childcare, with eligible working families able to receive up to 30 hours.
Funding can be used in different ways:
Term-time only (38 weeks per year, higher weekly hours), or
Stretched across the year (up to 51 weeks, lower weekly hours)
Both options provide the same total funded hours annually — the difference is simply how those hours are spread week to week. Our calculator automatically adjusts for this, so you can see how each option affects your estimated fees.
We apply for funding on your behalf each term and guide you through eligibility checks, codes and any required paperwork. If you’re unsure what you qualify for, our team is always happy to help.
